Cebu Pacific (CEB) has added three frequencies to its Manila-Hong Kong service, increasing its number of flights to 17 times weekly. CEB now operates its three additional flights to Hong Kong every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 13.45 over and above its twice-daily flights at 07.00 and 16.40.
China Airlines has introduced e-ticketing to Jakarta. The airline also plans to introduce e-ticketing to Anchorage, Medan, Kuala Lumpur, Vancouver and Frankfurt later this year.
China Southern Airlines has launched its new daily Boeing 777 service between Guangzhou and Tokyo. It will be the carrier’s third service to Japan after Guangzhou-Osaka and Guangzhou-Fukuoka. It will also expand its service between Guangzhou and Osaka to a daily service.
Six Continents Hotels has rebranded the 298-room Parkroyal Christchurch to Crowne Plaza Christchurch. It will be the first hotel to take on this global brand in the South Island and is the second Crowne Plaza hotel in New Zealand.
EVA Air has moved its Tokyo service from Haneda Airport to Narita, and through a codesharing partnership with Air Nippon Airways, has increased its Taipei-Tokyo frequency from two flights weekly to three daily.
Six Continents Hotels has entered into a contract with Australian hotel holding company, Golden Swan Investments to rebrand the 304-room Furama Darling Harbour as Holiday Inn Darling Harbour from June 6.
Delta Airlines has started codesharing services on Korean Air flights from Anchorage, New York (JFK), Los Angeles, Washington (Dulles), Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Honolulu and San Francisco to Seoul (Incheon), and from Los Angeles to Tokyo. Delta will also codeshare on Korean Air flights from Seoul to Osaka and Tokyo. Delta will also add its code to the new Korean Air service between Incheon and Atlanta on May 21.
Lufthansa has expanded its Vietnam operations to three weekly services between Ho Chi Minh City and Frankfurt via Bangkok, from April 30. It has also launched a website, specifically designed for Vietnam, www.lufthansa-vietnam.com
Ramada International Hotels & Resorts will return to Australia after a five year absence with the opening of the 182-room Ramada Hotel Melbourne in September.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) will add two supplementary flights a week between Singapore and Christchurch from September 2 until the end of March, 2003. During the period, SIA will operate five times a week between Singapore and Christchurch.
United Airlines will be adding a third daily non-stop flight between San Francisco and Tokyo. The new flight will be seasonal effective June 29 through September 7, and will be flown using Boeing 747-400 aircraft configured for three classes of service.
