BRIEFING

Chevron inks deal with Star Alliance

Singapore – Chevron USA, a unit of ChevronTexaco Corp, has signed a five-year agreement with Star Alliance’s Corporate Plus programme.

The agreement offers corporate travellers greater flexibility and access to a range of benefits including the ability to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles or points on member airlines, flexible fare structures and prices and priority service for Star Alliance Gold Members in reservations, baggage and check-in, standby and boarding procedures.

Under the programme, qualified corporations or their travel management firms can contact the sales teams of any of the alliance member carriers to work out a suitable plan. The programme gives the MNCs one point of contact, one agreement and one report.

Star Alliance CEO, Mr Jaan Albrecht, projects the network will generate more than E1.5 billion (US$2.028 billion) in revenue during 2004 under Corporate Plus, which now has 35 global agreements.
