BRIEFING

TQ3 makes triple acquisition

Singapore - Global travel management company, TQ3 Travel Solutions, has made three acquisitions in the Pacific, Asian and South American regions as it continues to pursue its global expansion strategy by increasing ownership stake in its key operations around the world.

President and CEO, Mr Marc Hildebrand, said: "2005 will see TQ3 turn its sights on these three regions in particular, whose potential for fast, comprehensive, flexible and creative solutions to travel management needs has yet to be fully realised." TQ3Navigant Travel Solutions, a 50 per cent owner of TQ3 Travel Solutions, has agreed to buy Synergi Travel Australia, Australia's fourth largest TMC and Synergi Travel New Zealand, the country's second largest.

These companies will join the TQ3 global network and will provide TQ3 with a strong presence in the key markets of Australia and New Zealand and the wider Pacific region.

TQ3 has also bought eTravel India, which has been operating as TQ3 India since September 2001. With offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, and plans to further expand into several other cities, TQ3 India has grown 30 per cent year-on-year since its launch and generates annual turnover in excess of US$30 million.

The company has also acquired 25.1 per cent in Koch Overseas de Mexico, which has represented TQ3 within the South American market since March last year and generates an annual turnover of US$30 million.
