GlobalStar launches new tools
Singapore – GlobalStar Travel Management has launched FareStar, ProfileStar and DataStar. FareStar allows allows clients to search fare databases in any country and on every global distribution system. ProfileStar enables clients to amend their travel profiles 24/7 from anywhere in the world and with DataStar, clients can collect, consolidate and normalise currency to provide comprehensive travel financial data from GlobalStar’s international locations.
Joint mileage programme for China Airlines and Air China
Taipei – Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) and the mainland’s Air China have introduced a joint mileage programme to enable their frequent flyer members to enjoy the same benefits, including mileage accrual, redemption of free tickets and upgrades, when travelling on either airline. This is CAL’s second co-operation on a mileage programme across the Taiwan Strait, after its first partnership with China Eastern Airlines last year. The airline said it was negotiating similar co-operation with other mainland carriers. CAL’s Dynasty Flyer has 1.6 million members while Air China’s Companion Frequent Flyer has two million members.
Shanghai gets another Marriott executive apartments
Shanghai – The second Marriott International property in Shanghai for extended-stay travellers will open in Pudong in 2006 under a management agreement with Shanghai Xinzhao Realty Development. The 223-unit Union Square Shanghai Pudong Marriott Executive Apartments will be the fourth Marriott Executive Apartments facility in China and the eighth Marriott International property in the city.
