Singapore - A new Corporate Planners Forum will be introduced at EIBTM 2005 to attract more global corporate planners with small high-end meetings and large events.
Organisers Reed Travel Exhibitions is targeting 50 buyers for the inaugural forum. Group exhibition director, Mr Paul Kennedy, said: "We are starting small, but the forum does provide additional reasons for corporate planners to attend and we are confident this will increase numbers."
He added: "We'll be covering hot topics such as ROI, procurement, elevating your brand, security and how to work with congress centres."
The show will be held in Barcelona from November 29 to December 1. This year, it targets 3,000 hosted buyers, a 19 per cent increase on 2004, which saw a 17 per cent increase in hosted buyers. Corporate planners comprise about 15 per cent of all buyers, according to Mr Kennedy. The rest are associations (10 per cent), agencies (37 per cent), PCOs (36 per cent) and others (two per cent).
"The key markets of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Benelux are traditionally strong. We are working hard to increase the number of US buyers coming in and are working with Visit London to offer all US buyers a fam trip to London as part of their EIBTM experience. We are also working with various partners to bring in hosted buyers from Australia, Asia, Russia, the Middle East and South America," Mr Kennedy said.
About 2,900 suppliers are expected to participate.
